Word of The Day

Do any of you remember Pee Wee's Playhouse? That seriously creepy show with the skinny guy in a tight suit and lipstick? I do, I can't get it out of my nightmares.... {I did a google search for "Pee Wee's Playhouse" and couldn't bring myself to post a picture of the scary little man on my blog, so the picture above is the next best thing.} My mom wouldn't let us watch the show but I do remember seeing a few bits and pieces here and there.

I remember they had a segment called "word of the day" and every time someone would say the word of the day, be it, rainbow, clouds, apples, or bananas then everyone in the audience and at home was supposed to yell and get excited.

Today, we had a word of the day {more like phrase of the day, but you get the idea} at our house, quite by accident. This morning I mentioned to Braden that we would go outside sometime during the day and "mow the lawn". He said "YAY!" in his high squeeky voice.

Then later in the morning I was on the phone with Mona and mentioned to her that I really should be going so I could go "mow the lawn". I hear Braden in the background...."YAY!"

About thirty minutes later as I'm changing the laundry over I mention to Ally that she needs to get her coat on so we can go out and "mow the lawn". Braden from somewhere down the hall yells "YAY!"

By now I am finding this kind of cute and funny so I go up to Braden a few minutes later and just say the three words "mow the lawn" and he answers back "YAY!". We went back and forth a few times like this and decided to finally go outside and actually mow the lawn. He loves mowing the lawn because he gets to do some serious "man" work {like looking under the lawn mower to see how come the chute is not spitting out grass, Mom is a good "fixer" according to my three year old, yes my chest is puffed out in pride} and he gets to sit on mom's lap while she drives. It's an incredible time if you're three.

If you don't have a word of the day in your family, I would highly reccommend that you get one!
