Why do they always say that? "Some assembly required." Why can't the manufacutures just be honest and say, "this large piece of equipment you just bought is going to take the better part of an entire weekend to assemble so you'd best get started"? "oh and by the way it's not our fault if you pull out all your hair in the process"

It didn't help that the Fed Ex guy drops off seven great big boxes and says "It's going to take a genius to put this thing together."
I look around the room and wonder, "where am I going to get one of those?"

Day two and I've thrown in the towel twice. How hard can this be? The genius was not included with the instructions (I don't know why not, there was plenty of room for him in box six) so for the first half of the building process I get to go it alone (Larry helped on the second half, surpisingly enough that didn't make it go any faster). Have you ever seen a grown woman cry over lost bolts and misplaced allen wrenches? Well, you missed a great show!

Ten hours, three days and lots of frustration later, we now have a Bowflex! What posseses us? I don't know. Larry and I both seem to have the happy (or unhappy depending upon how you look at it) disadvantage of being somewhat compulsive. Will we use it? Yes. Am I glad to have it so I don't have to travel to the gym three times a week or go out into the cold for my walks. Most definitley. Would I reccommend it for others? More than likely. But be warned there is "some" assembly required.
That is a lot of boxes! I'm glad you finally got it put together. :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like quite a project - and now you have to actually use it. My brother-in-law has a Bowflex in their TINY little married student apartment and I've asked several times if he wouldn't rather, you know, "store" it in our basement. I'd even be willing to move it for him. :)
ReplyDeleteohhh hahaha this looks like us a couple of months ago when we got an eliptical! And I agree - they should have put that installation guy in box 6!
