Hunger Pangs

Life is going by way too fast and I don't write in my journal as often as I should so I'm hoping that having a blog will help me slow down enough to catch a few breaths.

Funny story; The other night I was taking a much needed end of a crazy day relaxing bath when I hear a timid little knock on the door. It's Braden, our dialoge goes something like this...

Braden: "mom, i hungry"

Mom: "buddy, what are you doing out of bed"

Braden: "I hungry mom" (first statement transposed)

Mom: "buddy, go back to bed"

Braden: (we moms sure know how to listen don't we?) louder "I hungry mom"

Mom: (not wanting to interupt my warm bath) "I'll be out in a few minutes to get you a piece of bread"

There is a huff and movement outside the door. About a minute later.

Braden: "mom, I have this?"

Mom: "What is is buddy?"

Braden shoves the end of a cereal box at the bottom of the door. "Bekfast?"

Mom: "yeah bud, in a minute"

I'm reading a great book and obviously don't want to be interupted, after a few pages I notice he isn't making any more noise. I look toward the door and see both of his pajama bottomed feet poking under the door. I watch for a few minutes to see if he is just playing and discover that the feet aren't moving.....





He's sound asleep outside my door!

Poor baby, he went to bed hungry (after he'd already eaten dinner). But surprise of all surprises he woke up the next morning and hadn't wasted away!
