A Very Big Year

This school year is kind of a big deal at our house.  I've got;

One Senior in High School

One first time middle schooler

One kindergartner

....And Courtney.

Gabby started her Senior year of high school today!  Really?  Already?  I still remember her first day of kindergarten all those years ago.  She broke out in hives the night before because she was so nervous.  She doesn't really like change, apparently.

Ally started middle school as a sixth grader this morning, found her locker right away, and her two blond buddies.  They were off to breakfast last I saw them.  She was nervous.  She'll do fine.

Braden looked absolutely sick to his stomach sitting at his big round table waiting for school to start.  "Why aren't they starting?  What's taking so long mom?"  I think he might be a little like me,  the waiting is worse than the actual event so lets just get it done with already!

I surprised myself a little in that I didn't cry when I dropped my kids off at school today.  I think I'm ready for a break, a clean house and some quiet time.  Plus Braden is my first kid that I KNEW needed to be in school.  He needed the extra year to grow and become a little less shy, and he has (a little anyway).

And then Courtney.  She didn't have any major milestones.....(it kind of works that way around here, Courtney gets the off years, like last year when she was the only one having anything major as she entered high school)......she's a sophomore in High School....but maybe that is a milestone.  For some reason my sophomore year stands out the most for me.  Maybe it will be the same for Courtney, who knows?

As for me, I think today I'll relax, put my feet up and watch a movie (or three), and then tomorrow the fun begins.....the basement has been ignored for far too long!

Gabby and Courtney *very* early this morning, they had to be out the door by 6:30 am

Braden was already trying to avoid the pictures I was taking...and this was only the second one!
