Braden at the "actual" moment he turned six.
Yep, you counted right. There are six candles on that cake......
Braden doesn't offically turn his new age until he blows the candles out on his cake. I'm not sure where he came up with this self imposed tradition but he's been doing it for the last couple of years.
I kept telling him in the weeks leading up to his birthday that he was almost six. And each time he reminded me "I'm only five". He is the first of my kids that isn't in a hurry to grow up.
This fall he starts kindergarten. I'm so glad we kept him home one more year. He has matured so much in the last year and I feel much more confident in his ability to take on the world, even if he doesn't quite feel that way yet. I'm excited for him to start school and am a little anxious for him to be on his way....another first for me. Not that I don't love having him home, because I do, he is my love bug and is always hugging on me, but he is soooo ready to be doing something other than playing video games all day. I don't even think I'll cry when I drop him off for his first day......
Of course August 20th (the first day of school) may be a different story....we'll see.
Happy Birthday Braden!!
