She Came One Day Early.....

Seventeen years ago today.
One day before her scheduled due date.  That doesn't happen very often.

My water broke that morning (that also doesn't happen often), we rushed to the hospital a ninety minute drive away, and made it in sixty.  On our way to the hospital we were pulled over for speeding, explained our plight and let go with a warning.  Classic made for TV stuff.  Once at the hospital we took a deep breath, waited, and labored, for eight more hours.

She came into the world a pale shade of blue.  The cord wrapped tightly around her neck during the birth process.  A team from the NICU was called in to revive her but it ended up being my OBGYN that actually started her breathing......and every second from those first moments have been just as exciting (some a little more than others).

She's kept me on my toes, taught me what a Mother should be, and showed me how to love another human being more than myself.  She is my first child, and the one that made me want to do it again.

I could go on about how amazing she is, but if you know her, you already know those things.

Happy Birthday my sweet Gabby!
It's gone by fast!!
