What Do You Believe? Really.

Have you ever wondered how the Savior might have felt during his mortal ministry?  Not the agony of Gethsemane or the suffering on the cross, I think as Christians we think on those events with frequency and reverence.  But those years leading up to His final sacrifice.  The years of testifying, that He is the Son of God, perfoming miracles that even those closest to Him wondered about.  Do you think he felt alone?  Would you have believed Him?  Would you have discounted Him?  Would you have seen the miracles and said "impossible"?

Imagine you hear of a man who was blind from birth.  You hear of a miraculous healing, he can see as never before.  You hear of a man named Jesus, who with a touch has made him whole.  Would you believe?

Now imagine a friend of yours reports that an Angel appeared to him in the temple.  The angel told him that his wife would conceive.  Your friend doubted because his wife was an old woman.  The angel wasn't happy with him and he was struck dumb for the course of the pregnancy.  An old woman bore a son, the husbands voice returned to his mouth and the son grew to be a  great prophet.  Do you believe yet?

What if you know of a woman who conceives a babe in her womb without ever knowing a man?  Are you dumbstruck?  In awe?  The babe is born, a Savior to the world.  Can you envision a God of miracles now?

Now, if in modern day you have a sister, a friend, a neighbor who tells you that there is life inside of her.  She's been down this road before, she recognizes the movement, the swelling, the heaviness and tenderness in her body.  She has had whisperings to her heart that tell her a little boy is on the way, a dream that showed him to her.  Three different medical professionals have told her there is no baby.  She can't possibly be pregnant, all of the tests show nothing.  She must be crazy, or wanting a baby pretty badly to make all this up.  Will you have faith with her?  Will you be her friend when the clouds of despair filter in?  Do you believe that the Lord can do all things? Do you believe in miracles?

 Really?
